The Area

Moorgair is a small farm in a quiet corner of Northumberland. This traditional hill farm rearing suckler cows and sheep has recently seen the introduction of alpacas.

Being on the edge of Slaley forest, there are miles of country lanes, forest tracks and footpaths for walking and mountain biking. Guided tours of the nearby Ladycross Nature Reserve, a must for bird watchers, can be arranged and there is pony trekking from Slaley village.

Alpacas, Xipe and Khepri

Enjoy a round of golf on one of several local courses including the championship courses at Slaley Hall which is less than two miles from the cottage. Picnic on the banks of Derwent Reservoir or treat yourself to afternoon tea in the picturesque village of Blanchland.

Blanchland

Spend a day at one of our local agricultural shows or browse in the Farmers Market in nearby Hexham.

Hexham Abbey

A small shop, post office and two pubs serving food, one with an excellent adventure playground, are within a mile and a half of the cottage.
