Access Statement For MOORGAIR COTTAGE
Introduction
Our self catering cottage is attached to the farmhouse on a small working farm. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.
Pre-Arrival
o We have a comprehensive website
o Bookings / enquiries can be made via email, phone or through the website.
o Directions will be posted or emailed to you.
o There is no public transport to the cottage which is 1.5 miles from Slaley village
o The nearest train station (Hexham) is 6 miles away; there are accessible taxis at the station
o We are happy to accept a tesco.com delivery for your arrival
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
o The cottage has private parking for two cars with a graveled surface.
o There are 3 steps from the parking area with a handrail on the left.
o Outside lights via a switch in the cottage.
Main Entrance & Reception
o The cottage has a single step at the front door.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
o Open plan lounge / dining area / kitchen all on one level.
o Solid wood floor. Log burning stove.
o The cottage has full oil central heating.
o Cot / highchair / stairgates available on request.
Laundry
o A washing machine, tumble drier and sink for sole use of the cottage, are in a summerhouse by the car parking area.
o Iron and ironing board are in the cottage.
Bedrooms
o Twin bedded room.
o Double room with access to single room.
o All linen and towels provided.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC
o Downstairs bathroom with shower above bath.
o Wood floor.
Self-Catering Kitchen
o Fully equipped kitchen is part of living area.
o Electric cooker, microwave, fridge with 3 star icebox.
o Wood floor.
Attractions (Displays, exhibits, rides etc.)
o Huge selection of information about attractions, walks, shopping etc in local and wider area.
Grounds and Gardens
o Private garden, concrete patio area and lawn with garden furniture and barbeque, all on one level.
o Picnic table in small wooded area for sole use of cottage.
Additional Information
o Fire alarms throughout cottage wired to owners home.
o Payphone in cottage as mobile phone reception patchy.
o Sorry no pets and no smoking in the cottage.
o Connecting door into farmhouse, which is locked at all times, but can be used in emergency.
o Doctor / dentist / hospital / taxi phone numbers displayed in cottage.
o Cottage available from 4pm on day of arrival and we ask that the cottage be vacated by (approx) 10.30am on the morning of your departure. Please let us know if this is not convenient.
